Affordable Housing Choices Plans are already being translated into action. The SRRC and Mercy Housing Southeast have partnered to create a new neighborhood, Etowah Village:
Residents will also soon enjoy a new streetscape for the South Rome corridor, including new traffic signals, crosswalks, sidewalks, antique lighting and signage, which will connect South Rome to nearby neighborhoods and provide connectivity to the broader community. New Educational Opportunities Revitalization will draw families with school-age children back into the community, and the SRRC is working with Rome City Schools to plan and build a new school to serve 540 students.
